Unexplained Bruises and Cuts

It is the responsibility of nursing home staff to provide information to family members about their loved one’s conditions. If bruises or cuts develop, the staff has the responsibility to tell you how they happened. If they refuse to give you much information or act strangely, it is a huge red flag that something such as a fall or physical abuse may have happened.

Someone should check on the nursing home resident often to make sure they are well taken care of. A family member should always take pictures of any bruises or cuts in case legal action or investigation is necessary.
